On-Line Data Editing
Goals
Provide easy to use tools to update data and geographic objects through an internet browser.
Deal with emergency situations? Need to quickly expose data collected on the field?
Provide GIS tools (drawing polygons, plotting points…) to a large web community user.
Manage a directory and expect data owner to handle updates and ensure data integrity?
Solutions
A major advantage of web applications is their accessibility to end users.
On-line data editing tools provide the flexibility to manage data directly through a web browser, allowing a higher degree of user interaction and data sharing.
DBx GEOMATICS’ product, svgX, offers all the capabilities needed to edit geographic data on the internet.
A comprehensive range of drawing and navigation tools allow users to enter new geographic objects, edit existing data or add annotations.
Apart from the map editing, we create a web interface to allow users to update the back-end database. Through customized forms, users can enter their business data and share it on the web.
Example Industry Applications
- Government: In case of emergency management, users need to quickly update and share information from managers present in different geographic locations. Web editing ensures immediate data transmission, making accurate information available to all managers at all times.
- Mining and Natural Resources / Telecommunication: Business data needs to be updated with the information collected from the field. On-line data editing makes this easy, frequent and user-friendly.

With PS-Emprise, users can define where the work needs to be done, and can follow the process from the RFP to the project completion. Through on-line forms, the users update a central database repository where managers can review the planning.
